MRB Law Firm’s Founder and Managing Partner, Maram Rashid Al Balushi, attended the 10th ICC Young Arbitration and ADR Forum (ICC YAAF) Global Conference in London on 16 October 2026. Hosted by Clyde & Co - London, the conference brought together arbitration and alternative dispute resolution practitioners from around the world and marked the handover between the outgoing and incoming regional representatives.

The gathering marked the start of her 2026–2028 mandate as an ICC YAAF Regional Representative for the Middle East, providing an opportunity to meet fellow representatives and exchange perspectives on supporting young practitioners across jurisdictions.

The programme explored developments in dispute resolution and the future of the profession. Discussions considered regional approaches to arbitration and ADR, procedural efficiency, and the role of negotiation and mediation in resolving disputes.

A particular theme emerging from the conference was the importance of creating opportunities for others. Sessions examined how professional networks, mentorship and collaboration can help young practitioners enter and contribute to the arbitration community. The opening address also considered how artificial intelligence is changing legal work, highlighting the continuing importance of sound judgement, commercial understanding and deliberate professional development.
